Access End-User Shortcuts
Shortcut keys to toggle the dropdown state of a combo box, copy field values from the previous record, enter the current date and time, and more.
My favorite Access shortcut keys to speed up data entry for end-users:
- [F4]: drop down a combo box (press again to close it)
- [Shift] + [Enter]: save changes to the record being edited
- [Ctrl] + [
']: copy data from the same field in the previous record - [Ctrl] + [
;]: enter the current date in a textbox, combo, etc. - [Ctrl] + [
:]: enter the current time in a textbox, combo, etc. - [Shift] + [F2]: open the Zoom Box to edit long text
- [PageUp]: move to same field in previous record
- [PageDown]: move to same field in next record
Of course, there are lots more Access shortcut keys. These are just my favorites.
